HOW TO ENJOY A HOT!! SUMMER DAY FISHING ON CHARLOTTE HARBOR WITH THE KIDS.
So you want to take the kids fishing ? and its 90+ outside and your already hot just thinking about it! well welcome to my world. here are some common sense but really over looked tips that will help you have a great day and a opportunity to teach the kids about the outdoors. first and most important bring plenty of sunscreen there is nothing worse then spending the day on the water and ending up with severe sunburn that can damage for life . just as important bring lots of water covered in plenty of ice. if your thinking one bag will do. take two its amassing on how fast ice can melt especially when someone forgets to close the lid lol also the sun in south west Florida should be respected and ice could come in handy for any accidents or break downs that could keep you on the water for a longer then expected time . speaking of unknowns always have some bug spray on the boat i prefer a spray in a non aerosol can. always bring good hats and sun glasses . some times when its really hot you can keep some hats in the cooler or even dip them in the water to 'cool your head off'. plan the day a head of time and consider making more runs then normal sometimes a short run with the wind blowing on you can make all the difference. be realistic if your after Snooks and Reds in a area that the tides wont allow. don't fight it go for some Trout chase some feeding Jackes remember its about the kids and they just want to catch some fish and have fun. "although my kids are spoiled" and demand action but that's another story .
